IN HAZARDOUS AREA
The classification of hazardous areas where flammable gas or vapour
risks may arise allows the selection and subsequent installation of
electrical apparatus that is appropriate for use in such hazardous
areas. Design codes related to classification of electrical
apparatus are depending on codes statements.
Selection of electrical equipment for hazardous areas requires the
following information:
- classification
of the hazardous area (as in zones shown in the table above);
- temperature
class or ignition temperature of the gas or vapour involved
